Research
Rachel Kranton studies how institutions, networks, and the
social setting affect economic outcomes. Her teaching and research span
several fields including microeconomics, industrial organization, economic
development, and behavioral economics. In 2001-2002 she was a member of the School of Social Science at the Institute
for Advanced Study in Princeton, and in 1996-1997, she was a fellow at
the Russell Sage Foundation in
