Research Support Tutors
The EcoTeach Center will fund one-on-one tutoring in various statistical and research support software (i.e. STATA, E-views, Mathematica, LaTeX, SPSS and SAS) for undergraduates pursuing research as part of the honors program. To request tutoring, send an email to: ecoteach@econ.duke.edu. Personal Course Tutors
Students needing help outside of class should first attend Instructor and Teaching Assistant Office Hours and any review sessions offered for their particular course. The EcoTeach Center can also assist in matching students seeking tutoring with graduate students who may be able to tutor in a wide array of economics courses. Students seeking a tutor should send their query to the Assistant to the Director of Undergraduate Studies. It is the responsibility of the student to make all arrangements, including financial, with the tutor. Graduate student tutors typically receive $15-$20/hour. This rate is provided for information only; again it is the responsibility of the student to negotiate a fair rate with their tutor. The EcoTeach Center does not sponsor or pay for individual tutoring, however, students for whom tutoring would represent a significant financial burden may contact the Director of Undergraduate Studies to discuss their particular situation.
