Economics 105D Pre-requisites
ACES enforces Economics 105D prerequisites: Economics 55D; Mathematics 102 or Mathematics 103 or any higher-level mathematics course with Mathematics 103 as a prerequisite. Students who matriculated prior to Fall 2007, may substitute successful completion (80%) of EcoTeach Center Math Test for Mathematics 102 or 103.
Students who are unable to register for Econ 105D but who feel they have fulfilled the pre-requisites through completion of or demonstrated proficiency in Math 102 or 103, should contact the Assistant to the Director of Undergraduate Studies, asst_dus@econ.duke.edu or #919/660-1881.
Appointments & Test Information
Effective Fall 2006, the official Math Test will be administered as a paper exam. Students must bring their DukeCard for identification purposes. A four-function calculator and scratch paper will be provided.
We encourage students to take an online practice test and consult a tutorial (click here for instructions on navigating the online exam). The EcoTeach Math Test may be taken as many times as needed to pass with a score of 80% or higher, but not more than once daily. A maximum of one-hour is allowed for exam completion and results are available immediately from the exam proctor. Students may take the Math Test as many times as needed to pass.

Registration Concerns & Deadlines
There is no way to reserve a seat in Econ 105D. The Economics Department will guarantee a seat in Econ 105D to all students who meet the prerequisites before the established deadlines for the academic term in which they are seeking entrance. Students contemplating study abroad are encouraged to take the EcoTeach Math Test before going abroad. Students should be aware that it may take ACES up to three working days to recognize satisfaction of the Math Test pre-req and allow registration in Econ 105D. Students wishing to guarantee enrollment in Econ 105D when their registration window opens, must take and pass the EcoTeach Math Test one week prior to their registration window.
**No student may take the exam for Spring 2008 Econ 105D registration after Friday, January 10, 2008.**
