Regarding the collaborative efforts of students differed from previous experience

I have been very pleasantly surprised by the helpfulness of my classmates. My classmates have diverse backgrounds and ways of thinking. In each class which I have taken in the economics department there have been fellow students that I have been able to work with on problem sets, discuss conceptual roadblocks with, and get notes from if I am sick.

Comment on the level of both course content and academic competition, and how this changed you
The content has stretched me. The material, including the math, has been very challenging. The difficulty of economics classes combined with the intensity of law classes has pushed me. After finishing a heavy semester filled with difficult and technical classes in both economics and law, I feel like there is nothing that I can't do!
What event are you proudest of during your time here at Duke?
I think the proudest moment of my time here at Duke was when my wife (who works at Duke Hospital) and I got married. We met at Duke and I will always remember my time here fondly for that reason alone.
      "Bests" of Duke, Durham, NC
North Carolina and Duke are great places to be for your grad school experience. I love the East Carolina style BBQ at Bullocks and Q-Shack. The drive to the beach at Wilmington is quick and easy. As a life long sports fan who has been to a lot of games, I felt as if I had not seen basketball until I had been to a game at Cameron. It's a great time even for those of us who don't paint our bodies blue or wear Viking helmets. Durham Bulls games are a lot of fun, as are occasional trips (about 15 minutes) into Raleigh to see the defending Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes.
