Centers, Programs and Institutes

Leadership for several University research centers and groups is provided by Economics faculty members:

The Center for European Studies (Neil De Marchi, Co-Director) is a National Resource Center on Western Europe and one of ten official European Union Centers in the U.S. The Center's goal is to ensure that faculty, students, and the larger community have access to the finest scholarship and the most current resources on modern Eurorope

The Center for Health Policy, Law and Management (Kathryn Whetten, Director) specializes in interdisciplinary research, and is dedicated to contributing to evidence-based health policy decisions at every level of the health care system.

The MicroIncentives Research Center (Chris Timmins, Director) is an Interdisciplinary Program devoted to the study of micro-level incentives and behavior.

The Triangle Census Research Data Center (TCRDC) (Gale Boyd, Director) is a partnership between the U.S. Census Bureau and Duke University with additional support from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and NC State University. Under this partnership, the Census Bureau provides access to unpublished microdata from the Bureau's economic and demographic censuses and surveys via a secure computer laboratory located on the Duke Campus.
